TOTILAS has DIED at 20 years old
This is sadly unexpected news from Eurodressage today.
5th in the Young Horse World Championships with Jiska van den Akker, it’s with the one we’re not showing that Totilas reached the highest level: Edward Gal. Together, they started the CDI Grand Prix in 2009 in Rotterdam and won two months later two European Champions titles at Hickstead. Winner of the S ‘ Hertogenbosch World Cup Final in 2010, they also dominated the Lexington World Games in September 2010, when they were last released.
Purchased by Paul Schockem öhle and Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff in the aftermath of the JEM for more than € 11 m, Gribaldi’s son then continued his sporting career with Matthias Alexander Rath: they align with the Rotterdam European Championships in 2011 and Aachen la Chapelle in 2015; it was finally the last competition outing of the exuberant black stud, after almost 50 international wins in contests like Aachen, Hagen, Perl, Wiesbaden, Kapellen, Neum ünster, Amsterdam, London, Suttgart, Hickstead, Munich… Totilas was sinking his retirement at the Gestut Schafhof in Kronberg where he was still regularly edited by Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff.
Totilas leaves behind many approved sons like: Governor, Go Legend, Tolegro, Topas, Glock’s Toto Jr, Thiago, Total Hope, Trafalgar…
Like Gottilas du Feuillard, mounted by Corentin Pottier, the first generation of his products today addresses the Grand Prix. Among his 45 sons and daughters registered in France, are High Hope KXL, winner this year of the 3-year-old Championship, Ghandi de Hus born of a Poetin clone, Tokensho born this year of Wakensho the ex – mare assembled by Sylvie Corellou then Odile van Doorn.
UPDATE: Totilas was succumbing to a colic last night. Matthias Alexander Rath finally told Eurodressage: ′′ He had surgery, he even got back up, but it wasn’t “.
